Skype for Windows Phone 2.4 adds HD video support

Available today, users o high-end Windows Phones (such as the Nokia Lumia 920, HTC 8X, and Samsung Ativ S) with a HD camera will be able to chat to their Skype friends in high-definition video (up to 720p). Lower-end phones will deliver VGA video.

The update will automatically set video quality based on the speed of the caller’s connection; and callers can now switchbetween portrait and landscape mode, and use either the front or rear camera for video chats.

The update also reintroduces Skype contacts into the People hub.
