Yesterday it was announced that beginning with Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, non-LTS releases will be supported for 9 months instead of the original 18 months.
Today, the Ubuntu Technical Board has published the voting process’ results:
- The releases between LTS releases will now be referred to as “standard” releases as the term “interim releases” is now obsolete
- 9 months support for a standard release
- The Ubuntu development version becomes a rolling release
